The mission of the School of Allied Health at the ²ÊÉñvlllÕù°Ô is
to educate and develop allied health professionals to serve all Alaskans.

As part of the College of Health at the ²ÊÉñvlllÕù°Ô, the School
of Allied Health is home to training programs and facilities for allied health professionals.
Allied health programs are specifically designed to prepare graduates for work in
rewarding careers in Alaska's rapidly growing health care industry. In addition to
instruction by allied health professionals, most programs provide experiential education
with students working alongside health professionals in real-work situations.
The School of Allied Health also offers continuing educational opportunities for experienced
professionals who are in need of a refresher course or looking to expand their earning
potential in the job field.
The ²ÊÉñvlllÕù°Ô’s Interprofessional Health Sciences Simulation Center collaborates with the Division of Population Health Sciences and Due North Support Services’ Full Embrace Doula Program to host a full-day simulation training for doula trainees.
Nursing students from ²ÊÉñvlllÕù°Ô and UNH joined South Peninsula Hospital in Homer to share insights on public health issues like shellfish poisoning and tick-borne illness.
Assistant Dean for the ²ÊÉñvlllÕù°Ô Division of Population Health Sciences Travis Hedwig worked with the Municipality of Anchorage Assembly to pass a resolution declaring April 7–13 National Public Health Week (NPHW) in Alaska.
²ÊÉñvlllÕù°Ô's Area Health Education Center (AHEC) helped bring hands-on healthcare career opportunities to over 100 students at a career fair in Ninilchik, where they engaged in activities like sheep eye dissections to explore health-related fields.
The 2025 ALPHA Health Summit, held at the Dena'ina Center in Anchorage, featured a session on combating substance use disorders through academic detailing, presented by ²ÊÉñvlllÕù°Ô’s Alaska Center for Rural Health & Health Workforce (ACRH-HW).
