General Education Council (GEC)
The GEC is charged with General Education vision and engagement, curriculum review, coordination of assessment, and engagement of General Education stakeholders through regular communication and outreach. We are a group of faculty members from many different disciplines and colleges, including the Consortium Library and community campuses, all interested in General Education, and we are a subcommittee of the Undergraduate Academic Board (UAB).
General Education Council Overview
- GEC reviews General Education Requirements (GER) courses.
- GEC assesses courses throughout the University of Alaska system.
- GEC engages with different colleges, campuses, and stake holders to develop and deliver a strong general education curriculum.
- GEC coordinates GER with the Associate of Arts degree.
General Education Curriculum
The GEC reviews General Education curriculum, usually in full GEC meetings. Faculty are invited to discuss curriculum with the GEC before their review.

General Education Assessment
General Education at 彩神vlll争霸 is in its sixth year of the seven-year assessment cycle. We are currently focusing on Tier II natural sciences and social sciences outcomes as well as Diversity & Inclusion.
